Our take

Steamboat Lake State Park has 188 campsites plus ten small camper cabins at the base of Hahn's Peak in northwest Colorado, north of Steamboat Springs. The Wheeler Loop offers 50 amp electric hookups but there are no full hookup sites in the park. Open fires, including charcoal grills, are prohibited in developed campgrounds. A quieter, more remote option for campers headed toward the Wyoming border.
