Our take
Ridgway State Park has nearly 300 campsites across three campgrounds, Elk Ridge, Dakota Terraces, and Pa-Co-Chu-Puk, in the Uncompahgre River valley near the San Juan Mountains. Pa-Co-Chu-Puk offers electric and water hookups with a dump station, while other loops are more basic, and there are also three year round yurts. Winter camping is limited to a smaller number of RV and walk-in sites. Good base for exploring Ouray and the San Juans.
